TOPIK I is the beginner paper of the Test of Proficiency in Korean. It checks whether you can understand everyday Korean: introducing yourself, shopping, asking the way, reading signs, short messages and notices.
One session, no break between sections. All questions are multiple choice with four options.
| Section | Questions | Time | Points |
|---|---|---|---|

| Reading (읽기) | 40 | 60 minutes | 100 |
| Total | 70 | 100 minutes | 200 |
There is no separate pass mark per section; your level comes from your total out of 200.
